PRESSURE...MOVING NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS IOWA...BEGINS TO PUSH A WEAK
WARM FRONT THROUGH. THIS WILL RESULT IN STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS AND
TEMPERATURES MODERATING INTO THE LOWER TO MID 50S FOR WEDNESDAY. AS
THE LOW MOVES ACROSS WISCONSIN ON THURSDAY...THE WARM FRONT WILL
MOVE INTO INDIANA AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES FROM THE NORTHWEST.
TEMPERATURES ON THURSDAY WILL RETURN TO SEASONABLE HIGHS IN THE
UPPER 50S AND LOW 60S. LIGHT RAIN IS POSSIBLE FROM THURSDAY
AFTERNOON INTO FRIDAY AS THE COLD FRONT PUSHES INTO INDIANA.

OR SNOW SHOWERS. DUE TO BRISK WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS...
TEMPERATURES STRUGGLED TO GET INTO THE MID TO UPPER 30S BY LATE
AFTERNOON.

COLD NORTHERLY WINDS RESULTED IN TEMPERATURES FALLING THROUGH THE
30S ON MONDAY AFTERNOON. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE CAUSED THE
DEVELOPMENT OF SNOW THAT BEGAN TO FALL MODERATE TO EVEN HEAVY AT
TIMES OVER PARTS OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE
SNOW WILL GRADUALLY SLIDE SOUTHEAST THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...WITH
TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO AN INCH MAINLY ON GRASSY AND COLDER
SURFACES. SKIES WILL CLEAR OVERNIGHT...SETTING THE STAGE FOR VERY
COLD TEMPERATURES FOR MID APRIL...BOTTOMING OUT IN THE LOWER AND
MID 20S BY EARLY TUESDAY. THE MINOR EXCEPTION COULD BE THE
POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS AFTER MIDNIGHT
INTO PARTS OF THE LAKEFRONT.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO THE MIDWEST ON TUESDAY...BRINGING
MOSTLY SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. TEMPERATURES WILL HOWEVER
REMAIN UNSEASONABLY COLD FOR MID APRIL...ONLY REACHING THE LOWER
AND MID 40S. SOME AREAS COULD BE LIMITED TO THE UPPER
30S...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE SHORE OF LAKE MICHIGAN. LOW PRESSURE
WILL MOVE INTO THE UPPER MIDWEST ON WEDNESDAY...RESULTING IN
STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS AND TEMPERATURES MODERATING INTO THE LOWER
AND MID 50S. THURSDAY WILL RETURN TO SEASONABLE HIGHS IN THE UPPER
50S AND LOW 60S...EXCEPT COOLER ALONG THE ILLINOIS LAKEFRONT DUE
TO WINDS TURNING ONSHORE DURING THE AFTERNOON. LIGHT RAIN IS

SKIES WERE CLOUDY ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA
WITH SCATTERED AREAS OF LIGHT RAIN AT MIDDAY. THERE WERE SCATTERED
REPORTS DURING THE MORNING HOURS OF AREAS OF LIGHT SNOW ACROSS THE
AREA. TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE MIDDLE 30S TO LOW 40S WITH GUSTY
NORTH WINDS.

THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED FRONTAL SYSTEM THAT BROUGHT
RAIN TO THE AREA OVER THE WEEKEND HAS MOVED OFF TO THE EAST.
NORTHERLY WINDS ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE LOW IS USHERING IN COLDER
AIR AND PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE FORM OF RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS
THIS AFTERNOON. THIS PRECIPITATION WILL PERSIST INTO THE EARLY
EVENING HOURS...WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO AN INCH OF SNOW
POSSIBLE. HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO THE MIDWEST ON
TUESDAY...BRINGING MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HOWEVER TEMPERATURES WILL
REMAIN COOL AS HIGHS WILL ONLY BE IN THE UPPER 30S TO MID 40S.

SKIES WERE CLOUDY ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA
LATE THIS AFTERNOON. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO MOVE
THROUGH THE REGION. A FRONTAL BOUNDARY OVER THE AREA HAS CAUSED A
HUGE VARIANCE IN TEMPERATURES. TEMPERATURES ALONG THE ILLINOIS
WISCONSIN BORDER WERE IN THE 40S...AND IN AREAS SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80 IT WAS IN THE 60S.

MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA DURING
THE EVENING AND INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AS LOW PRESSURE MOVES
ALONG A FRONTAL BOUNDARY. AS THE LOW AND FRONTAL BOUNDARY MOVES
OFF TO THE EAST BY MONDAY MORNING...COLDER AIR WILL FILTER INTO
THE AREA. LIGHT RAIN COULD SWITCH TO A RAIN SNOW MIX MONDAY
MORNING. IT WILL BE WINDY AND UNSEASONABLY COLD ON MONDAY AND
TUESDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE 40S.
