INTO THE EARLY EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE LOWER
TO MID 80S INLAND...WITH A NORTHEAST WIND HOLDING LAKEFRONT AREAS
TO THE LOWER TO UPPER 70S. WEDNESDAY NIGHT WILL BE PARTLY TO
MOSTLY CLOUDY...WITH LOWS BY EARLY THURSDAY IN THE UPPER 50S TO
LOWER 60S OUTSIDE CHICAGO AND MID 60S IN THE CITY. THERE IS A LOW

LOCALLY DENSE FOG WAS RAPIDLY IMPROVING. AN ONGOING COMPLEX OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM EASTERN IOWA INTO SOUTHERN
WISCONSIN COULD CLIP PORTIONS OF FAR NORTHERN ILLINOIS THROUGH MID
TO LATE MORNING...BUT THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE LIKELY TO REMAIN
NORTH OF THE STATE LINE. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A FEW
ISOLATED STORMS THIS AFTERNOON PRIMARILY ALONG AND NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 80. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL REACH THE LOWER 90S...WITH A
FEW MID 90S POSSIBLE IN THE STERLING TO PONTIAC ILLINOIS CORRIDOR.
COMBINED WITH THE VERY HUMID AIR MASS IN PLACE...HEAT INDEX VALUES
WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER 90S TO JUST SHY OF 110 DEGREES IN SOME
LOCATIONS.

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED STORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT
AS A WEAK COLD FRONT APPROACHES. THE WARM AND MUGGY CONDITIONS
WILL CONTINUE...WITH LOWS BY EARLY TUESDAY IN THE LOWER TO MID
70S. ADDITIONAL STORMS COULD OCCUR TUESDAY AND ESPECIALLY TUESDAY
NIGHT. HIGHS ON TUESDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE MID AND UPPER 80S
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 TO THE UPPER 80S AND LOWER 90S SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80. AREAS NEAR THE LAKE ARE EXPECTED TO BE KEPT COOLER
IN THE LOWER AND MID 80S AS WINDS TURN ONSHORE BEHIND THE WEAK
COLD FRONT. HEAT INDEX VALUES COULD APPROACH 105 DEGREES FOR SOME
LOCATIONS WELL SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80. CONTINUED PERIODIC
THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL CONTINUE FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK.
