Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands

Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies were observed across the
U.S. Virgin Islands today with a few passing showers across the
surrounding waters. Winds prevailed from the east to southeast at
10 to 15 mph...with higher gusts. Maximum temperatures remained in
the upper 80s today.

For tonight...minimum temperatures will be in the lower 80s
along the coasts of the local islands with little to no shower
activity expected. An upper level ridge will continue to dominate
the weather pattern during the next few days. Breezy wind
conditions will also prevail.

Winds up to 20 knots and seas up to 6 feet can be expected across
the local waters tonight. The moderate risk of rip currents will
continue across the beaches of Saint Croix tonight and tomorrow.

El cielo estuvo mayormente despejado durante la noche...luego una
capa de nubes en los niveles medios y altos se movio sobre la isla
temprano esta manana. Aguaceros pasajeros breves afectaron los
municipios del este de Puerto Rico temprano esta manana. Los vientos
prevalecieron mayormente del sureste a menos de 10 mph. Las
temperaturas durante la noche fluctuaron desde los medios 70s a los
bajos 80s a lo largo de las areas costeras y de los bajos a medios
70s a traves de las areas montanosas.

Para manana...el cielo estuvo de mayormente despejado a parcialmente
nublado con alguna actividad de aguaceros mayormente a traves del
noroeste de Puerto Rico en la tarde. Se espera que aumente la
inestabilidad a finales de la semana lo que aumentara el potencial
de actividad de aguaceros y tronadas todos los dias.

Se esperan vientos hasta 20 nudos y oleaje hasta 6 pies a traves de
las aguas locales de Puerto Rico. Existe un riesgo moderado de
corrientes submarinas a traves de gran parte de Puerto
Rico...Vieques y Culebra...excepto a lo largo de la costa oeste.

Mostly clear skies with little to no shower activity over land.
Then a mid to upper level cloud layer moved over the islands
early in the morning. Winds prevailed mainly from the southeast
at less than 10 mph. The overnight coastal temperatures ranged
from the low to mid 80s.

Today expect little to no shower activity over land...but a mid
to upper cloud layer will move across the region this morning. A
fair weather pattern and breezy conditions are expected to
continue during the next few days. Instability is expected to
increase after midweek which will increase the potential for
shower and thunderstorm activity each day.

Winds up to 20 knots and seas up to 6 feet can be expected across
the local waters. There is a moderate risk of rip currents across
the beaches of St Croix and St Thomas.

Condiciones de tiempo tranquilas con poca a ninguna actividad de
lluvia prevalecio durante la noche. Algunos aguaceros se movieron a
traves de las areas costeras del sur y este de Puerto Rico...Vieques
y Culebra temprano en la manana. Los vientos estuvieron mayormente
calmas a leves y variables pero con rafagas cercana a la actividad
de aguaceros. Las temperaturas minimas en las areas costeras
estuviern entre los altos 70s a bajos 80s.

Aguaceros pasajeros breves se podran esperar sobre las aguas locales
y debido a un flujo de viento del sureste algunos podran llegar a
las areas costeras del sur y este de Puerto Rico durante las horas
de la manana. Las temperaturas maximas en las areas costeras deberan
llegar a los bajos 90s. Aunque se espera que el cielo este
mayormente soleado a parcialmente nublado hoy...no se puede
descartar aguaceros y tronadas a traves del cuadrante noroeste de
Puerto Rico esta tarde. Ademas...algunos aguaceros se podran
desarrollar al oeste de El Yunque afectando la area metropolitana de
San Juan.

Se esperan vientos de hasta 20 nudos y oleaje de hasta 6 pies a
traves de las aguas locales de Puerto Rico hoy. Como resultado...los
operadores de embarcaciones pequenas deben ejercer precaucion a
traves de la mayoria de las aguas locales. Para los que van a la
playa...existe un riesgo moderado de corrientes submarinas a traves
de gran parte de Puerto Rico...Vieques y Culebra...excepto a lo
largo de la costa oeste.

El cielo se observo de mayormente soleady a parcialmente nulado a
traves de las islas durante el dia de hoy. Aguaceros leves de corta
duracion se movieron sobre tierra a traves de porciones del Este de
Puerto Rico esta manana...mientras aguaceros aislados se
desarrollaron a traves del cuadrante noroeste durante la tarde. Los
vientos estuvieron mayormente del Este al Sureste de 10 a 15
mph...con vientos en rafaga. Las temperatura maxima observada en el
Aeropuerto Luis Munoz Marin fue de 92 grados.

Para esta noche...las temperatuas deben estar entre los altos 70 y
los bajos 80s a traves de areas bajas...y podran alcanzar de bajos
90s a altos 80s manana. Se espera de poca a ninguna actividad de
lluvia. Para manana...alguna actividad de lluvia se podra esperar
mayormente a traves de porciones del Oeste y Noroeste de Puerto Rico
durante la tarde. La humedad continuara en estos niveles para la
mayor parte de la semana proxima...mientras la nubosidad aumenta.

Se esperan vientos de hasta 20 nudos y oleaje de hasta 5 pies a
traves de las aguas locales de Puerto Rico esta noche. Existe un
riesgo moderados de corrientes submarinas a traves de gran parte de
Puerto Rico...Vieques y Culebra...excepto a lo largo de la costa
oeste.

Algunas rociadas se observaron sobre la costa sur y pendientes del
este de Puerto Rico durante la noche a medida que nubes dispersas
pasaron debajo de una luna llena. Aguaceros mas fuertas cayeron
sobre las aguas mar afuera del Atlantico antes de la medianoche. Se
movieron oeste noroeste en el flujo de los vientos alisios. Vientos
hasta 10 mph se tornaron casi calmas durante la noche. Las
temperaturas descendieron a los altos 70s en las costas barlovento y
a los 60s en las valles mas frescas.

La humedad aumentara durante el dia y para media tarde mejor humedad
producira areas de aguaceros y tronadas aisladas en porciones del
interior y noroeste de Puerto Rico. Una linea de aguaceros del El
Yunque tambien es probable que pase justo al oeste de San Juan,
posiblemente sobre Catano con algunos breves aguaceros fuertes. La
humedad continuara en estos niveles para la mayoria de la semana y
la nubosidad aumentara. Las temperaturas maximas hoy estaran desde
los altos 80s hasta alrededor de 90 en la costas del norte y sur y
alrededor de 90 en las costas del sur y oeste. Solamente las areas
mas altas veran temperaturas en los medios 70s hoy.

Se esperan vientos de hasta 20 nudos y oleaje de hasta 5 pies a
traves de las aguas locales de Puerto Rico hoy. Existe un riesgo
moderados de corrientes submarinas a traves de gran parte de Puerto
Rico...Vieques y Culebra...excepto a lo largo de la costa oeste.

80 degrees.

A similar weather pattern is expected to continue today. A few
passing showers are expected, mainly across the surrounding waters
and breezy conditions will prevail during the next few days.
Temperatures will be back into the mid to upper 80s today.
Moisture will increase today with a few more showers, mainly over
the surrounding waters. High clouds are expected to develop early

A few sprinkles were seen over Puerto Rico`s south coast and
eastern slopes overnight as scattered clouds passed under a
nearly full moon. Heavier showers fell over the outer Atlantic
waters before midnight. They moved west northwest in the trade
wind flow. Winds up to 10 mph became nearly calm over night.
Temperatures fell into the upper 70s on the windward coasts and
into the 60s in the cooler inland valleys.

Moisture will increase during the day and by mid afternoon better
moisture will produce areas of showers and isolated thunderstorms
in the interior and northwest portion of Puerto Rico. A streamer
off of El Yunque is also likely to pass just west of San Juan,
possibly over Catano with some brief but heavy rains. Moisture
will continue at these levels for much of the upcoming week and
cloudiness will increase. High temperatures today should be in
the upper 80s to around 90 on the north and east coasts and around
90 on the south and west coasts. Only the highest elevations will
see temperatures in the mid 70s today.

Winds up to 20 knots and seas up to 5 feet can be expected across
the local waters of Puerto Rico today. There is a moderate risk
of rip currents across much of Puerto Rico...Vieques and
Culebra...except along the western coast.
