DISTURBANCE AND COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE AREA. LAKE EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS WITH MINOR ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL CONTINUE INTO
FRIDAY. SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY OVER THE
HIGHER TERRAIN OF WEST AND NORTH CENTRAL UPPER MICHIGAN. LESSER
AMOUNTS OF AN INCH OR TWO ARE ALSO POSSIBLE CLOSER TO THE LAKE
SUPERIOR SHORELINE. DEPENDING ON THE TIMING OF THE HEAVIER SNOW

EXPECT WEST WINDS TO GUST TO 45 MPH AFTER 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON AND
CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING AS A COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE AREA.
THE HIGHEST WIND GUSTS WILL LIKELY BE ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF THE
KEWEENAW PENINSULA AS WELL IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN AREAS ALONG THE
SPINE OF THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA. THESE WINDS MAY CAUSE SMALL TREE
LIMBS TO BE DOWNED AND A FEW POWER OUTAGES. IN ADDITION...SOME MINOR

MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH. THERE WERE OTHER ISOLATED...BUT STRONG
STORMS OVER CENTRAL SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY...AND ALSO OVER ALGER COUNTY

AT 156 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 6 MILES SOUTH OF
POWERS TO 17 MILES EAST OF CEDAR RIVER...OR ALONG A LINE EXTENDING
FROM 24 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ESCANABA TO 22 MILES SOUTH OF ESCANABA.
THESE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH. OTHER ISOLATED STORMS
WERE DEVELOPING AHEAD OF THIS MAIN LINE EAST OF GLADSTONE AND TO THE
NORTH OF MANISTIQUE.
