...LATE SEASON WET...HEAVY SNOWFALL EXPECTED OVER NORTHWEST UPPER
MICHIGAN...

A BROAD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHING FROM THE PLAINS WILL SPREAD
PRECIPITATION ACROSS UPPER MICHIGAN THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.
WHETHER THIS PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE FORM OF RAIN OR SNOW
REMAINS UNCERTAIN. AT THIS TIME...IT APPEARS A MIX OF RAIN AND WET
SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD UPPER MICHIGAN WEST TO EAST ON THURSDAY...BUT
PRECIPITATION MAY CHANGE TO MOSTLY SNOW OVER THE HIGHER
TERRAIN...MAINLY WEST OF A LINE FROM MARQUETTE TO IRON MOUNTAIN
THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND THURSDAY NIGHT. THE WET SNOW MAY FALL HEAVY AT
TIMES BEFORE THE PRECIPITATION DIMINISHES FRIDAY MORNING.

THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL LIKELY FALL OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE
KEWEENAW PENINSULA. TO THE SOUTH...HIGHER TERRAIN LOCATIONS WEST OF
A LINE FROM MARQUETTE TO IRON MOUNTAIN MAY SEE 4 TO 7 INCHES OF
HEAVY...WET SNOW ACCUMULATION BY LATE MORNING FRIDAY. SNOW MAY NOT
ACCUMULATE ON ROADWAYS THURSDAY AFTERNOON UNLESS IT IS SNOWING
HEAVILY. LOOK FOR SLUSHY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS TO DEVELOP ON ROADS LATE
IN THE AFTERNOON AND ESPECIALLY THURSDAY NIGHT. TRAVEL MAY BECOME
HAZARDOUS DUE TO SLUSHY SNOW ON THE ROADS. THE WET...HEAVY NATURE OF
THE SNOW WILL ALSO MAKE SHOVELING AND SNOW REMOVAL VERY DIFFICULT.

STAY TUNED TO LATER FORECASTS FOR UPDATES ON THIS EVOLVING EARLY
SPRING WINTER STORM.

SHOWS AS MUCH AS 6 TO PERHAPS 8 INCHES ACCUMULATING THROUGH FRIDAY.
OVER THE REST OF THE HIGHER TERRAIN NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM ABOUT

THE WET...HEAVY NATURE OF THE EXPECTED SNOW WILL MAKE SHOVELING AND
SNOW REMOVAL VERY DIFFICULT.
