...POTENTIAL FOR STRONG WIND THIS WEEKEND FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON
AND NORTHWEST OREGON...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP WELL OFF THE
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA COAST FRIDAY AND MOVE NORTHEAST TOWARD THE
OREGON AND WASHINGTON COAST FRIDAY NIGHT...AND THEN MOVE INLAND
SATURDAY. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR HIGH WIND ALONG THE COAST AND
WINDY CONDITIONS IN THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY AND SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON
INTERIOR LOWLANDS. THERE IS STILL PLENTY OF UNCERTAINTY REGARDING
THE STRENGTH AND TIMING OF THIS SYSTEM. SHOULD HIGH WINDS
OCCUR...DOWNED TREES AND POWER OUTAGES WOULD BE POSSIBLE. AT THIS
TIME IT LOOKS LIKE THE STRONGEST WIND WOULD OCCUR LATE SATURDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH THE EVENING.

...WET AND WINDY THROUGH THE WEEKEND FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND
NORTHWEST OREGON...

A MOIST AND SLOW-MOVING FRONTAL SYSTEM IS BRINGING WIDESPREAD
HEAVY RAIN TO SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON TODAY. THE
BAND OF HEAVIEST RAIN WILL SLOWLY SHIFT SOUTHEAST THROUGH THIS
EVENING...BEFORE BECOMING CONFINED TO THE LANE COUNTY CASCADES
OVERNIGHT. EXPECT NUMEROUS POST-FRONTAL SHOWERS TO CONTINUE
ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THURSDAY.

STORM TOTAL RAINFALL TOTALS UPWARDS OF 1.5 TO 2.5 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED IN THE INLAND VALLEYS BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON. COASTAL
LOCATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RECEIVE 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN...AND 3 TO
6 INCHES OF RAIN ARE FORECAST FOR MOST OF THE COAST RANGE AND
CASCADES.

MINOR URBAN FLOODING IS POSSIBLE DUE TO AUTUMN LEAVES CLOGGING
STORM DRAINS. ADDITIONALLY...THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF MINOR
FLOODING ON A COUPLE OF FAST RESPONDING SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS
DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN. BURN SCAR AREAS FROM RECENT WILDFIRES IN
THE CASCADES MAY ALSO BE SUBJECT TO DEBRIS FLOWS OR MUDSLIDES. ALL
OF THIS WILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY OVER THE COMING DAYS.

AFTER A LULL ON THURSDAY NIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY...ANOTHER STRONG
SYSTEM MAY AFFECT PART OF THE AREA LATER FRIDAY INTO THIS
WEEKEND. DETAILS ON THIS SYSTEM ARE STILL UNCERTAIN...BUT IT
APPEARS SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON ARE IN FOR
ANOTHER PERIOD OF WET AND WINDY WEATHER.

...WET AND WINDY THROUGH THE WEEKEND FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND
NORTHWEST OREGON...

SYSTEM MAY AFFECT PART OF THE AREA LATER FRIDAY INTO THIS
WEEKEND. DETAILS ON THIS SYSTEM ARE STILL UNCERTAIN...BUT IT
APPEARS SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON ARE IN FOR
ANOTHER PERIOD OF WET AND WINDY WEATHER.

...WET AND WINDY WEEK AHEAD FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST
OREGON...

A STRONG AND WET PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING PERIODS OF HEAVY
RAIN TO SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON THROUGH THURSDAY
MORNING. STRONG WINDS HAVE DEVELOPED ALONG THE COASTAL HEADLANDS
AND HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE COAST RANGE AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT
THE MORNING.

GUSTY SOUTH WINDS ARE ALSO DEVELOPING IN THE INLAND VALLEYS. LOCAL
GUSTS OF UP TO 40 MPH HAVE ALREADY OCCURRED AND WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH THE MORNING. MANY TREES STILL HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF
LEAVES ON THEM...WHICH COULD CAUSE MORE LIMBS TO BREAK THAN IS
OFTEN THE CASE WITH SUCH WINDS. AS A RESULT...SOME MINOR POWER
OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE GUSTY WINDS.

THE FRONTAL SYSTEM HAS TAPPED INTO SUB-TROPICAL MOISTURE WHICH
WILL ENHANCE RAINFALL NEAR THE FRONT AS IT SLOWLY MOVES THROUGH
THE AREA TODAY THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY. RAIN WILL BE HEAVY AT
TIMES...NOT JUST ALONG THE COAST AND IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN...BUT
FOR THE INLAND VALLEYS AS WELL.

STORM TOTAL RAINFALL TOTALS UPWARDS OF 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN
THE INLAND VALLEYS BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON. COASTAL LOCATIONS ARE
EXPECTED TO RECEIVE 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN...AND 3 TO 6 INCHES OF
RAIN ARE FORECAST FOR MOST OF THE COAST RANGE AND CASCADES. ONE TO
TWO INCHES OF THIS RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS MUCH OF
SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON.

MINOR URBAN FLOODING IS POSSIBLE DUE TO AUTUMN LEAVES CLOGGING

FLOODING ON A COUPLE OF FAST RESPONDING SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS
DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN. BURN SCAR AREAS FROM RECENT WILDFIRES IN

...WET AND WINDY WEEK AHEAD FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST
OREGON...

A STRONG AND WET PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING PERIODS OF HEAVY
RAIN TO SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON TONIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO EXPECTED ALONG THE COASTAL
HEADLANDS AND HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE COAST RANGE TONIGHT INTO
WEDNESDAY MORNING.

SOUTH WINDS ARE INCREASING ALONG THE COAST THIS AFTERNOON AS THE
FRONT APPROACHES THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COASTAL WATERS. WINDS WILL
BE ESPECIALLY STRONG ALONG THE BEACHES AND HEADLANDS...WHERE GUSTS
OF 60 TO 70 MPH ARE EXPECTED AT TIMES TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY
WEDNESDAY. COASTAL COMMUNITIES MAY SEE GUSTS UPWARDS OF 50 MPH AS
THE FRONT SLOWLY SAGS DOWN THE COAST LATER TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY
MORNING.

SOUTH WINDS WILL ALSO INCREASE LATER TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY FOR
THE INLAND VALLEYS AND MAIN METRO AREAS...WHERE GUSTS OF 25 TO 35
MPH ARE POSSIBLE. MANY TREES STILL HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF LEAVES
ON THEM...WHICH COULD CAUSE MORE LIMBS TO BREAK THAN IS OFTEN THE
CASE WITH SUCH WINDS. AS A RESULT...SOME MINOR POWER OUTAGES ARE
POSSIBLE AS THE GUSTY WINDS DEVELOP.

THE FRONTAL SYSTEM HAS TAPPED INTO SUB-TROPICAL MOISTURE WHICH
WILL ENHANCE RAINFALL NEAR THE FRONT AS IT SLOWLY MOVES THROUGH
THE AREA TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY. RAIN WILL BE HEAVY AT
TIMES ALONG THE COAST AND IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN...AND POSSIBLY IN
THE INLAND VALLEYS AS WELL.

RAINFALL TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN THE INLAND
VALLEYS BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON. COASTAL LOCATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO
RECEIVE 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN...AND 3 TO 6 INCHES OF RAIN ARE
FORECAST FOR MOST OF THE COAST RANGE AND CASCADES.

MINOR URBAN FLOODING IS POSSIBLE DUE TO AUTUMN LEAVES CLOGGING
STORM DRAINS...ESPECIALLY WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT WHEN THE
HEAVIEST RAIN IS EXPECTED. ADDITIONALLY...THERE IS A POSSIBILITY
OF MINOR FLOODING ON A COUPLE OF FAST RESPONDING SMALL STREAMS
AND RIVERS DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN. BURN SCAR AREAS FROM RECENT
WILDFIRES IN THE CASCADES MAY ALSO BE SUBJECT TO DEBRIS FLOWS OR
MUDSLIDES. ALL OF THIS WILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY OVER THE COMING
DAYS.

AFTER A LULL ON THURSDAY...ANOTHER STRONG SYSTEM MAY AFFECT PART
OF THE AREA FRIDAY INTO THIS WEEKEND. DETAILS ON THIS SYSTEM ARE
STILL QUITE UNCERTAIN... BUT IT APPEARS SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND
NORTHWEST OREGON IS IN FOR A FAIRLY EXTENDED PERIOD OF WET AND
UNSETTLED FALL WEATHER.

...WET AND WINDY WEEK AHEAD FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST
OREGON...

A STRONG AND WET PACIFIC FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BRING PERIODS OF

NORTHWEST OREGON STARTING TODAY...CONTINUING THROUGHOUT THE
MIDWEEK PERIOD BEFORE THE FRONT FINALLY EXITS TO OUR SOUTH AND
EAST LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT OR THURSDAY.

SOUTH WINDS WILL INCREASE ALONG THE COAST THIS AFTERNOON AS THIS
FRONT APPROACHES THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COASTAL WATERS. WINDS

ARE POSSIBLE. MANY TREES STILL HAVE A FULL COMPLEMENT OF LEAVES ON
THEM...WHICH COULD CAUSE MORE LIMBS TO BREAK THAN IS OFTEN THE
CASE WITH SUCH WINDS. AS A RESULT...SOME MINOR POWER OUTAGES ARE
POSSIBLE AS THE GUSTY WINDS DEVELOP.

THIS FRONTAL SYSTEM ALSO HAS A SOLID TAP TO TROPICAL MOISTURE...
WHICH WILL ENHANCE RAINFALL NEAR THE FRONT AS IT SLOWLY MOVES
THROUGH THE AREA TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY. RAIN WILL BE
HEAVY AT TIMES ALONG THE COAST AND IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN...AND
POSSIBLY IN THE INLAND VALLEYS AS WELL.

CURRENTLY...RAINFALL TOTALS OF AROUND 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN

EXPECTED TO RECEIVE 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN...AND 3 TO 6 INCHES OF
RAIN ARE FORECAST FOR MOST OF THE COAST RANGE AND CASCADES.

LEAVES DOWNED BY THE RAIN AND GUSTY WINDS MAY CLOG STORM DRAINS
AND EXACERBATE MINOR URBAN FLOODING ISSUES AS THE RAIN BECOMES
HEAVIER WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT. ADDITIONALLY...THERE IS A
POSSIBILITY OF MINOR FLOODING ON SOME FASTER RESPONDING SMALL
STREAMS AND RIVERS DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN. BURN SCAR AREAS FROM
RECENT WILDFIRES IN THE CASCADES MAY ALSO BE SUBJECT TO DEBRIS
