ANOTHER DISTURBANCE CENTERED EAST-SOUTHEAST OF GUAM NEAR 13N150E TO
END NEAR THE MARSHALL ISLANDS AT 10N170E. THE ACTIVE PORTION OF THE
MONSOON TROUGH HAS LIFTED NORTH OF THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU...YAP...
CHUUK AND POHNPEI STATES. WEATHER CONDITIONS OVER THE REPUBLIC OF
PALAU AND POHNPEI STATE HAVE IMPROVED AND THIS TREND IS ALSO
EXPECTED FOR YAP AND CHUUK STATES LATER TONIGHT.

FOR CHUUK AND WESTERN YAP STATES...

SUSTAINED WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH...SOUTHWEST FOR
WESTERN YAP STATE AND NORTHWEST FOR CHUUK STATE WILL PERSIST THROUGH
THIS EVENING. SCATTERED SHOWERS WITH OCCASIONAL HEAVY DOWNPOURS ARE
STILL PROBABLE UNTIL LATE TONIGHT. UP TO HALF AN INCH OF ADDITIONAL
RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE BY TUESDAY MORNING BUT HEAVY RAINFALL ARE NO
LONGER EXPECTED.

FOR THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU...

SUSTAINED SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH AND
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE ANTICIPATED THROUGH TONIGHT. THESE
THUNDERSTORMS CAN STILL PRODUCE BRIEF LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS BUT
HEAVY RAIN ARE NO LONGER EXPECTED.

FOR POHNPEI STATE...

NORTHWEST TO WEST WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH AND MAINLY ISOLATED SHOWERS
ARE IN STORE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

FOR ALL THE ABOVE LOCATIONS...

SEAS ACROSS POHNPEI AND CHUUK STATES HAVE SUBSIDED ENOUGH SO THAT

ACROSS THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU AND WESTERN YAP STATE WILL REMAIN

HAZARDOUS SURF ACROSS POHNPEI AND CHUUK STATE SHOULD BE DROPPING
BELOW ADVISORY LEVELS BY THIS EVENING. FOR THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU AND

MARIANAS...

AT 1130 AM CHST THIS MORNING...A TROPICAL DISTURBANCE WAS LOCATED
NEAR 12 DEGREES NORTH AND 150 DEGREES EAST...WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY
375 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF GUAM...370 MILES SOUTHEAST OF SAIPAN AND
330 MILES NORTH-NORTHWEST OF CHUUK.

SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWS A GRADUALLY DEVELOPING CIRCULATION CENTER
MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST AND THE MARIANA ISLANDS. THIS
CIRCULATION IS NOW THE SUBJECT OF A TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION ALERT
FROM THE JOINT TYPHOON WARNING CENTER. THE SYSTEM HAS DEVELOPED OVER
THE PAST 12 HOURS. CONDITIONS ARE CURRENTLY ONLY SOMEWHAT FAVORABLE
FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT...HOWEVER THEY ARE EXPECTED TO IMPROVE.
ALTHOUGH IT IS STILL TOO EARLY TO TELL HOW STRONG THE WIND THREAT
WILL BE FOR THE MARIANAS...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ON GUAM
