THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEW
YORK.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

A MIX OF RAIN AND WET SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION LATER THIS
MORNING AND QUICKLY CHANGE TO ALL WET SNOW IN MOST AREAS.
SLUSHY ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED FROM TODAY
INTO THIS EVENING ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. THERE IS A SMALL CHANCE
OF GREATER THAN 4 INCHES IN A FEW LOCATIONS IF THE SNOW FALLS AT A
HEAVY ENOUGH RATE TO OVERCOME SOME MELTING FROM THE MARGINAL
SURFACE TEMPERATURES.

AN INCH OR TWO OF WET SNOW IS POSSIBLE TODAY MAINLY ALONG THE
LAKESHORE. SOME LAKE EFFECT SNOW WITH SEVERAL INCHES OF
ACCUMULATION IS LIKELY IN THE SNOW BELT FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY NIGHT.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS TODAY WILL BE THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH OR LESS.
NO SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IS EXPECTED. SOME PONDING OF WATER ON
ROADS AND IN FIELDS MAY OCCUR.

THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON HOURS. WHERE WINDS ARE LIGHT AND
VARIABLE, THEY ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST
AROUND 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 20 TO 25 MPH THROUGH THIS
AFTERNOON.
