...The flood watch continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...
  Grand River Near Comstock Park affecting Kent County
  Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County
  Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County
  Portage River Near Vicksburg affecting Kalamazoo County

.NOTE: River forecasts are based on a 48 hour precipitation
forecast valid through Monday morning. Widespread rain moves into the
region late Saturday and river rises will occur as we move through the
weekend. River rises are currently based on an expected 2"-3" of
precipitation over much of the area. However, rainfall amounts over
river basins could vary considerably if the focus for heavy precipitation
shifts position slightly.  A possibility exists for higher rainfall totals
across a narrow region which may impact these crests. Stay tuned to
the latest forecast updates as we approach this rainfall event.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A flood watch means flooding is possible but not imminent.  If you
are in the watch area remain alert to possible flooding. Residents
and those with interests near the river should monitor rising water
levels and be prepared for possible flood warnings.  Report observed
flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request
they pass this information to the National Weather Service.

* Minor Flooding is possible.
* Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Forecast, flood stage may be reached by tomorrow early afternoon.
  The river is forecast to reach a maximum stage of 5.6 feet by
  Monday early afternoon.
* Impact, at 6.0 feet...Expect minor basement flooding of several
  homes built adjacent to the river.

* Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Forecast, flood stage may be reached by Monday morning.  The river
  is forecast to reach a maximum stage of 7.8 feet by Monday
  evening.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet...Expect minor flooding of homes in Dewitt and
  along the Looking Glass River between Dewitt and Eagle. River
  levels flood warming hut, playground, pavilion, and ball field in
  Looking Glass Valley Park in Wacousta.

* Forecast, flood stage may be reached by Monday morning. The river
  is forecast to reach a maximum stage of 8.5 feet by Monday
  afternoon.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet...Expect minor flooding of low lying areas
  adjacent to the river, in the Lansing Municipal Golf Course and
  sections of East Mt. Hope Road.

  flooding of homes occurs along Abrigador Trail and Willow Drive.
