...HEAVY RAIN MAY CAUSE RIVER FLOODING...

.PERIODS OF RAIN... HEAVY AT TIMES... ARE EXPECTED WEDNESDAY AND
THURSDAY ACROSS MUCH OF MAINE AND THE EASTERN HALF OF NEW
HAMPSHIRE. TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WILL BE
WIDESPREAD WITH AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES POSSIBLE. WHILE THE
RAIN WILL NOT FALL AT EXTREME ENOUGH RATES TO CAUSE FLASH
FLOODING... THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF THIS MUCH RAIN OVER THE
MULTI-DAY PERIOD WILL BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME RIVERS TO RISE TO
NEAR FLOOD STAGE. HEAVY RAINS WILL END THURSDAY WITH LINGERING
SHOWERS INTO FRIDAY. ANY FLOODING WHICH DOES OCCUR MAY ALSO
LINGER BEYOND THURSDAY.

* FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT

* HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE LATE
  TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR THE CASCADES FROM
  SNOHOMISH COUNTY NORTHWARD TO WHATCOM COUNTY. THIS AMOUNT OF
  RAINFALL WOULD CAUSE SMALL STREAMS AND UNCONTROLLED RIVERS TO
  RISE RAPIDLY ON WEDNESDAY AND POSSIBLY FLOOD. PORTIONS OF THE
  STILLAGUAMISH AND NOOKSACK RIVERS MAY ALSO SEE MINOR FLOODING
  LATE WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
