Subject:  Discontinuation of the GRIB/GRIB2 data for the

          Atlantic and East Pacific Oceans Effective

          December 3, 2013


Effective Tuesday December 3, 2013, at 100 pm Eastern Standard 

Time (EST) or 1800 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the Ocean

Prediction Center (OPC) of the National Centers for Environmental

Prediction (NCEP) will stop posting GRIB/GRIB2 data files for the

western Atlantic Ocean and the eastern Pacific Ocean.


The current products have been superseded by OPC’s gridded marine

data on the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD). For more

information on how to access OPC's gridded products, go to:


The Product Description Document for the GRIB/GRIB2 data for

Gridded Significant Wave Heights is online at:


There are no WMO headers associated with this data. The

GRIB/GRIB2 data was posted to an ftp site that will no longer be

updated as of December 3, 2013.
