Synopsis...HIGH PRESSURE EAST OF NEW ENGLAND WILL SLOWLY MOVE FURTHER OFFSHORE TODAY. A COLD FRONT APPROACHES FROM THE WEST TONIGHT AND CROSSES THE WATERS LATE TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT. HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM THE WEST ON WEDNESDAY, THEN A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKS SOUTH OF LONG ISLAND THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. HIGH PRESSURE RETURNS ON FRIDAY.

Today: SSW wind 12 to 16 kt, with gusts as high as 22 kt. Mostly sunny. Seas 1 to 2 ft.

Tonight: SW wind 13 to 17 kt, with gusts as high as 27 kt. Partly cloudy. Seas around 2 ft.

Tuesday: SW wind 12 to 15 kt. A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Seas around 2 ft.

Tuesday Night: SSW wind 6 to 11 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the evening. A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Seas 1 to 2 ft.

Wednesday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming NE around 6 kt. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Seas 1 ft or less.

Wednesday Night: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 2am, then showers likely after 2am. Seas 1 ft or less.

Thursday: Variable winds 5 kt or less. A chance of showers. Seas 1 ft or less.

Thursday Night: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming N 5 to 9 kt in the evening. A chance of showers. Seas 1 ft or less.
